DCI Group carries out its certification activities in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17065 and applicable European directives. On this page, you will find information about our accreditation status, normative basis, and how we ensure independence and quality.

Reliable certification begins with transparency and independence

DCI Group carries out certification activities in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065 and relevant European directives. The organization is currently undergoing the accreditation process with the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) and guarantees independence, transparency, and quality in all its activities.

Accreditation status

DCI Group is currently undergoing the accreditation process with the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA).

This means that our organization has structured its certification activities in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17065 and is working towards formal accreditation for the execution of these activities.

Until the moment of accreditation, no statements will be issued suggesting that DCI Group is already accredited.

Normative framework

The certification activities of DCI Group are based on the following standards and guidelines:

  • ISO/IEC 17065 – requirements for product certification bodies
  • Directive 2013/53/EU (Recreational Craft – RCD)
  • Directive 2014/90/EU (Marine Equipment Directive – MED)
  • Decision 768/2008/EC (conformity modules)

These form the foundation for a consistent and reliable execution of our certification processes.

Scope of certification activities

DCI Group focuses on certification activities within the following domains:

CE – Pleasure Craft (RCD)

  • Pleasure craft and partially completed vessels
  • Modules: PCA, Module B + C, Module F

MED – Maritime equipment

  • Propulsion engines for rescue and rescue boats
  • Rescue equipment (select categories)
  • Modules: Module B and Module F

Certification activities are carried out exclusively within this established scope.

Independence and impartiality

DCI Group operates as an independent certification body.

To ensure the objectivity of our reviews:

  • we do not carry out design, production, or consultancy activities for products that we assess
  • are evaluation and certification decision-making strictly separated
  • risks of conflicts of interest are actively managed

Decision-making is based exclusively on objectively obtained evidence.

Confidentiality and integrity

All information we receive in the context of certification activities is treated confidentially.

DCI Group guarantees that:

  • customer information is protected against unauthorized access
  • data are used exclusively for the purpose of certification
  • disclosure only takes place if legally required

Transparency

As a certification body, DCI Group values openness. Therefore, we make publicly accessible information available regarding:

  • our certification activities and scope
  • the certification process
  • complaints and appeal procedures
  • (future) certificate register

This transparency contributes to trust among customers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
